Welcome to Woodside Elementary!
We welcome you and your child as we embark on educational opportunities intended to strengthen and enrich your child's learning abilities and skills.
Your child will be guided by a skilled staff of teachers, educational assistants, and support staff who enjoy working with elementary students and are familiar with Wisconsin Rapid's educational philosophies and policies. We work our mission of building strong connections & ensuring growth-academically, socially, & emotionally- for all our students every day and in every way in order to achieve our vision; Woodside will be a premier elementary school, where 100% of staff and students are thoughtfully engaged in academic, emotional, and social learning opportunities that provide growth for all. As a result, all our students are prepared for their secondary education and are active, positive, thoughtful members of our community.
Woodside is the proud home of 365 lumberjacks this year!
Our student school hours on Tuesday through Friday are from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Our Monday student school hours are from 9:15 am -3:30 pm. If you drop your child off/pick up, please review the necessary safety measures in Woodside's drop off/pick up locations and procedures. It is important that your child arrives on time, however; there is no supervision prior to 8:30; so please no early drop-offs. On Tuesdays through Fridays and prior to the bell signaling the start of school, all K-1 students go to the back playground and 2nd - 3rd grade students front playground, 4-5 grades enter the building through the 5th grade doors. On Mondays, all students follow the same T-F schedule starting at 9:15 am.
We are Woodside! We are responsible, respectful, and safe! We believe in ourselves, we believe in each other, and we believe in WOODSIDE PRIDE!
Our main way of communicating activities, events, and updates is through Seesaw, Skyward, email, this website, and/or the online monthly parent newsletters from me. You'll be able to read highlights of what is going on at Woodside and have conversations with your child about their activities. In an effort to maximize instructional time and provide a healthy learning environment, we maintain very high expectations for students to do their academic best, follow classroom procedures and display appropriate behavior and as such, communication with you is essential. Please know you can always reach out to your child's teacher via email, note, Seesaw, or a phone call.
Together, we will achieve! A bright, fun school year awaits your child! On behalf of the teachers and staff, welcome to learning at Woodside!
Sincerely,
Bill Oswald, Principal
