The 2015-17 Wisconsin Budget Bill that was signed into law by Governor Walker on July 12, 2015, mandates that schools can only grant a high school diploma if a student successfully completes a civics assessment.
The requirement is that students pass 65 of the 100 multiple choice questions that make up the US naturalization exam in order to graduate from a WI high school.
1. Students must get 65/100 questions correct to graduate from a WI high school.
2. The test may be taken multiple times in order for a student to pass. The test may first be taken in 9th grade.
3. Students in WRPS will take this assessment in:
- Their Freshman year during their American Government class or
- During a schedule make-up session.
