Hello Grant Grizzly Families!
I am Nikki Calteux and the newly appointed Principal at Grant Elementary School. I am very excited for the upcoming school year and look forward to building relationships with Grant Families and the Grant Community. I grew up right here in Wisconsin Rapids and attended Mead Elementary, West Jr. High, and Lincoln High School in my early education days. As an employee of WRPS, I've been fortunate enough to teach and work in six (6) of our elementary buildings in a variety of capacities over the years. I've spent the last six (6) years as the Reading Interventionist at Grant Elementary and have worked as an Instructional Coach in multiple buildings. I am grateful and excited for my next chapter in education as Grant Elementary Principal and I'm thankful for the opportunity to continue to work with the amazing staff and students at Grant. Being part of such a wonderful community is important to me as my husband and I will be raising our two sons, Bryce (3 years) and Kasen (1 year), here in Wisconsin Rapids. My husband, CJ, is a fourth grade teacher at Mead Elementary and you will often find us out-and-about in the community. Again, I am beyond thrilled to be leading our Grant Grizzly team and look forward to continuing our involvement in the Wisconsin Rapids community.
A quote from Angela Schwindt states, “while we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.” What I’m looking forward to the most in my first year as Principal at Grant Elementary is all I will learn from our children at Grant. I believe a great principal and school focuses on every child, every day, and that is exactly what I will do as we build a community that will learn and grow together.
Sincerely,
Nicole L. Calteux, Principal
