Teacher - Art Email Phone: (715) 424-6750 I’ve been teaching Art in Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools for 17 years. Most of this time has been at Lincoln High School, but I have also taught at Rudolph Elementary, Vesper Elementary, West Junior High and East Junior High. I am excited to share hands on experiences with students. Art allows students the chance to solve complex problems that have wide range of solutions. It is a great opportunity for them try something that is a challenge both physically and mentally.
I graduated from Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. I attended Northern Illinois University to earn my BSed in Art. I began teaching at Proviso West High School in Hillside, Illinois. I taught there for 9 years. I earn my Masters Degree in Studio Arts which emphasised felt and ceramic sculpture from Northern Illinois University. Soon after graduation, I accepted a position at Lincoln High School. With my husband and two children, I moved to Wisconsin Rapids. Both of my children attended school in WRPS, and have been active in all the wonderful opportunities that WRPS has to offer. It has been a great experience as a parent as well as a teacher.
Since moving to Wisconsin Rapids, I have completed courses beyond my degree in the areas of book design, art technology, watercolor painting and a variety of other artforms. I am a coach and advisor for several of Lincoln’s art extracurricular offerings including National Art Honors Society, Visual Art Classic team and Bloodstone Literary Arts Magazine. I am an active member of the Wisconsin Art Education Association. I have served on the WAEA board as the State Chair for Visual Arts Classic program. In recognition of my work with VAC I was an award recipient for WAEA President’s Award in 2016. I am also the Registration Chair for Visual Arts Classic.
I currently teach Clay and Sculpture I, II, III & VI, Jewelry and Glass I, II, III & VI, Fibers I, II, III & IV, Investigating Art, Computer Graphics, Digital Arts and Video Arts.
I am looking forward to great school year!
