Welcome to the greater Wisconsin Rapids area, located along the beautiful Wisconsin River in the heart of cranberry country! Harvest season is the most picturesque time for cranberries and it occurs late September through late October. During harvest, you can safely experience all the fall colors over a sea of red berries by taking a drive down the Cranberry Highway. The major employers in the area include McCain Foods, ND Paper, Ocean Spray, Renaissance Learning Systems, Aspirus, Marshfield Clinic, cheese and other food processing industries, chemical companies, and cranberry growing and processing companies. Several industrial parks serve a vast array of companies in manufacturing and as distribution centers. Additionally, Wisconsin Rapids serves as home to the main campus of Mid-State Technical College.
The Wisconsin Rapids area also caters to many outdoor recreational enthusiasts. Lake Wazeecha to the east of town offers a variety of recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, water skiing, kayaking, hiking, camping and swimming.
